Svitolina reaches Bogota semis

Bogota, Colombia (SportsNetwork.com) – Top seed Elina Svitolina moved into
the semifinals Friday on a rainy day at the Claro Open tennis event.

The Ukrainian waited out a pair of lengthy rain delays before dismissing
eighth-seeded American Irina Falconi 6-3, 7-5 on the clay courts at Club
Campestre El Rancho.

Svitolina now awaits the winner between Brazilian Teliana Pereira and Claro
Open stalwart Lourdes Dominguez Lino, who titled here in 2006 and 2011 and was
the runner-up in 2005.

The 2015 Bogota titlist will earn $43,000.
