Simon beats Monfils in all-French Marseille final

Marseille, France (SportsNetwork.com) – Gilles Simon outlasted Gael Monfils
in an all-French final Sunday at the Open 13 tennis event.

The fifth-seeded Simon beat Monfils 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (7-4) to capture his first
ATP World Tour title since 2013 in Metz. It was the fifth all-French final in
Open 13 history.

Simon, who also won this title in 2007, improved to 12-5 in finals. The
seventh-seeded Monfils fell to 5-17 in finals.

The 30-year-old Simon, who improved to 5-1 against Monfils, took home $117,000
with the victory.
