Bogota, Colombia (SportsNetwork.com) – Eighth-seeded American Irina Falconi,
a native of South America, secured a berth in Friday’s quarterfinals at the
women’s Claro Open tennis event.
The Ecuadoran-born Falconi came from behind to beat German Dinah Pfizenmaier
5-7, 6-2, 6-3 on the red clay at Club Campestre El Rancho.
The Florida resident Falconi’s opponent in the round of eight on Friday will
be top-seeded Elina Svitolina or unseeded Danka Kovinic.
