Court Conditions Dictate WTA Stuttgart Open Free Picks 4/18

Lots of wide open action as Maria Sharapova’s absence and the clay court conditions have a wide open Stuttgart Open kicking off on April 18th.  Six of the top ten in the world are here including the defending champ.  Alas without Sharapova nor Serena, the futures market is wide open.  Good Morning and welcome to APEX Tennis Betting.  Together we will look at some of the best values in the WTA futures market for this event and together formulate a high expectation plan on taking down the books this week.

Court Conditions : Down to the Grain

So entrenched is this events identity as a French Open warm up event that the grounds crews use the exact same type of grain for the clay surfaces that they do in the Grand Slam event.  Maria had a three year run as champ here snapped when Kerber took care of Caroline in three sets in last year’s final.  Angelique Kerber comes in as the favorite but sports a hefty +400 for her future in winning here.  This is a testament both of the parity of the top ten outside of Serena and that six of ten of them are playing here.  To add to her value is that the fact that she grew up less than five hours from here in her hometown of Bremen.  Strong home court advantage for the other players to overcome in this one.

Other Favorites

We love Radwanska at +550.  She has a better price than Halep which is hard to believe.  Radwanska is the #2 in the world with at least four semis in five events this year plus two semi appearances in the past at this site.  Halep is +500 is still struggling with a deviated septum.  Her style of play plus this clay makes her lasting power come into question.  Garbine Muguzura is looking for that breakout performance.  It could come here but +600 is not enough bang for your buck to ride her here.  How to divine the best price here is to go to the APEX Conditions and other factors section to help you out with the particulars to this event.

Longshots

Two players that could catch fire and crush the field have longer prices than the favorites.  Ana Ivanovic is +1800 and has gone deep here in the past.  She has the talent to roll if she can get going in 2016.  Another stronger player that is suffering from more than the occasional mental lapse is Petra Kviotova.  Her power game does not work well here as she likes to finish points off fast.  The value of +1000 is somewhat lowered by the Madrid Championship she won last year.  If she gets her hard strokes going with that small margain of error, she could buck the odds to cash in for plenty here.

Good fortune in your sports investment on the Stuttgart Futures and we will see you next week here at APEX Tennis Betting.
